Plays must be submitted at least 45 calendar days prior to your first contest. Requests will be considered between August 1, 2024 and April 15, 2025. Please do not use this form for High School play submissions, you have a different form. Play/Set approvals typically take 4-5 weeks prior to December 1. After that time, it increases to 5-6 weeks. Those submitting on the Dec. 6 high school deadline likely will not receive anything back prior to Jan 15. PLEASE NOTE: we do not give estimates of how long it takes to get your individual play decision. You MUST mark the script as instructed: 1. The exact portions of the script to be used. This includes both dialogue and action (HIGHLIGHT in yellow) 2. Deletion of all dialogue and action not to be used (Strike-through in PEN) 3. Deletion of all language and action that violates the "Standards Rule" (Strike-through in PEN) 4. Deletion of scenery that might restrict approval (Strike-through in PEN) NOTE: If you are doing the play in its entirety, with no cuts, YOU MUST include a note saying that. (A post-it note works!) Sending a completely unmarked script and no note will mean that your play is returned to you, unread. Scripts marked incorrectly will be returned without review. Once you've completed and submitted this form [you will see an onscreen "Success!" message], you will then receive an automatically generated email which includes all of the information you enter below. PRINT a copy of that form and send the copy along with payment and your marked script to UIL.
