This entry must be received by February 12. Submit one entry form for each contest you are entering. Your entry should include the following (do not include your name or school name on any of these components): 1) essay (1500-2500 words) 2) works cited, bibliography, or other citation page These two components may be submitted as separate files, or you may combine them into one document. Do not include your name or school name (except on the form below). If you include a header in your paper, only include the page number and not your last name. Make sure to submit an essay about a FAR-REACHING essay subject whose influence directly impacts or impacted Texas. Do not plagiarize, and make sure your essay has been closely proofread and also meets the word requirement. All entries that follow the essay contest guidelines will receive judge feedback towards the end of the school year.
Before you submit your essay, ask yourself these questions- 1) Do I have a clear THESIS in the beginning of my paper? 2) Did I PROOFREAD my paper? 3) Does my essay topic have a clear connection to TEXAS? 4) Do I have in-text citations and a bibliography? (or other type of citation)
Your essay must follow research paper conventions.
