Cowboys Stadium to Host 2011 UIL Football Championships

AUSTIN, Texas—The 2011 UIL Conference 1A-5A football state championships will be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, the UIL announced Monday.

“We are excited to bring the UIL football championships back to Cowboys Stadium, one of the premiere venues in the state,” said UIL Director of Athletics Dr. Mark Cousins. “We will work closely with Cowboys Stadium in providing a first-class state championship experience and look forward to creating memorable moments for our student participants and fans.”

The Conference 1A 6-man Division I and Division II football state championships will be held at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene. Last year marked the first time all UIL football state championship games in all conferences were held at pre-determined locations. The UIL has determined the site for the Conference 5A football state championships since 2006.
