Judging qualifications:
I debated all four years of high school. My senior year I was a state alternate. I worked very hard in high school to understand the concept and critiques of LD debate. I am very passionate about debate and would like to judge high schoolers and coach one day. Although I just graduated, I feel like this is an asset because I am fresh in the debate world. I know the ins and outs of Lincoln Douglas. I feel like I would be a good asset to UIL because I can judge affectionately with good critiques that will help the debaters. I feel so passionate about LD, I do not want to stop being involved with it.

Paradigm:

Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I really like to see a good value/criterion clash. This is important to me because it is key to the format of LD. If the value and criteria debate is sufficient and close contentions are always important. I like to look at the flow of arguments and who provides the most sufficient and relevant arguments. Not dropping arguments is so important to me. Keeping the contentions in mind with the final conclusion I usually spend a little time diving into v/c. I like the clash and to see who can analyze the opponent's value while upholding their own.
