Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I have not judged CX before.
LD
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
In tough rounds, I think that the student who better adapts their tactics to their opponent wins. I feel that poise and professionalism can make the difference in a close round. The key to a great round is respect on both sides for the judge, the process, and—especially—one another.
