Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I have 2 roles in the room -first is to give the students and the coach a view of what happened in the room. The second is to clearly follow the arguments and evidence -making a defendable decision while also understanding the pedagogical process.
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
again, I have 2 roles in the room-first to give the students and the coach a view of what happened in the room as well as to follow the arguments and evidence. In LD, there is often a tendency for the arguments to get lost in either speed of delivery or in the avalanche of evidence without a clear application to the situation/arguments.
