UIL speaking events gave me essential skills that have helped me be successful so far in life.
I want to pass down the knowledge that I gained from my coaches and judges to the current participants to help them become better speakers and leaders.
I hope through judging that I can help participants make the best of their years as UIL contestants.
Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach:
Policy priority:
Evidence philosophy:
Paradigm:
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I prefer a traditional LD Debate round with a clear value and criterion. I value pragmatic, real world arguments. I believe that it is essential that the debater have proper factual evidence to support their argument. I expect the debaters to be civil and to present clear arguments against each other in a formal way. I place value in clarity of the argument over speed.
