Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: Pretty much a tab judge. Being creative in stock issues gets you brownie points. I'd rather you speak at a normal speed and be fluid than spread and constantly stumble.
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
The framework debate is what holds up the most to me. Having well structured contentions that are clear and concise are vital. Holding burdens up throughout a round as well as holding their opponent accountable for mistakes such as drops and contradictions are always things to be pointed out. Credible evidence is important, but LD is a debate about the why and not the how.
