Policy priority:
Evidence philosophy:
Paradigm:
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
Effective communication is key to persuading a judge in LD Debate. However, LD is a value/criterion debate, and it is equally important that students have created a strong case defending or negating the resolution. Students must demonstrate the ability to defend their stance effectively and clearly/precisely. The ability to articulate one's ideas and arguments is just as valid as the argument itself.
