Judging qualifications:
I participated in Speech all four years of high school. Four years in CX, four years in Extemp, & three years in Congress. I advanced to the state meet twice for CX, twice for Congress (one time to finals), & to the regional meet Three times for Extemp. I genuinely loved competing but would also love to continue participating and helping the program. As for my philosophy, I’m a stock issues CX judge and in Congress I encourage new arguments and positive debate.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: Topicalities can be a winning argument but shouldn’t be too far stretched. Strongly dislike K’s but will listen to them. Stock issues judge. It’s better to talk clearly than to speak quickly. Opinions and personal experiences are not evidence so make sure to back up any claims made.
