Judging qualifications:
Everyone has a voice and we should use it effectively through communication in the debate space. Reasons why those arguments are important are essential to the activity, regardless of the 1AC or speech. Explanations and details of your arguments are essential for deep understanding of argumentation and communication. I have debated throughout high school and I currently consult, and judge in my area. I am well known in the valley for being one of the best policy debaters the valley has seen in a decade. I am proud to represent the valley and I love debate and speech as an activity and as a community. I would love to judge this tournament and give back the great judging that was given to me as a competitor at the UIL CX State meet both years.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 10
Judging approach: Tabula Rasa
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: tech> truth I will evaluate the arguments made, and the reasons why those warrants are valid. I did policy and K debate in high school, so I am comfortable with both styles of debate, once again give me impacts to your advocacy and solvency of the alternative to the status quo. I think the 1AC should have a plan or an advocacy statement. I like to vote on presumption when there are no extensions of case substance in the 2AR/1AR with mention of substance in the 1NR/2NR. Overall, fluency is important too, being tied to your speech and empowering bodies that are harmed using communication in the debate space is imperative for efficient argumentation.

LD

Rounds judged: 9
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
I like value debates, and impact framing tied to that. I am comfortable with traditional and progressive LD, as I did both in high school. I can adapt to lots of debate rooms and my vote usually has 3 warrants as to why my vote was made. I like to see lots of line by line in the rabuddles and grouping arguments is great for the flow efficiency
