Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 7
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: I am far more interested in hearing solutions to your problems than hearing the problems related to your opponents' case. Solving problems in the real world are a primary objective of CX so arguments or reasonability/ plausibility carry a lot of weight in my judging.

LD

Rounds judged: 6
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
Voters are a primary decision-maker. Playing to the strengths of your case using voters and definitions is great. Dropped arguments are lost arguments.
