Judging qualifications:
I participated in UIL throughout middle school and high school. I understand how beneficial UIL can be to the development of skills needed in life and want to encourage participation by providing honest and helpful feedback. I participated in extemporaneous speech, informative speech, persuasive speech, prose and LD debate during my high school career. I was not able to go to college right away or I would likely have continued on in these events. I moved from Abilene area two years ago and took a position I haven't judged in a while due to being away from my home area. I am now settled in the metroplex and would like to get back to judging regularly.
Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach:
Policy priority:
Evidence philosophy:
Paradigm:
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I believe in truth LD debate should have a beautiful mix and where a person is lacking be communication or resolution they should shine a light on where they do not lack and that will create the beautiful balance that allows for their talent to be judged accordingly.
