Judging qualifications:
I have competed at multiple tournaments, and won state in the 2017 UIL 1A Division in Lincoln-Douglas debate. I have coached Blum ISD Debate for one-year, and have coached and mentored students in the past as well. My philosophy for judging Lincoln-Douglas debate is that LD is a speech event first, and a values debate second. These two paradigms should coincide to make a well-rounded, articulate, and interesting philosophical debate.

Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
Like I previously mentioned, both of these concepts should play a role in judging rounds. The speaking ability of a debater, as well as the resolution of important ideas in the value-criterion debate are of vital importance when evaluating a round. Making sure that the flow of the debate and the structure of cases are substantive, well founded and researched, and help resolve issues. There also needs to be definitive clash between the two debaters as well.
