Rounds judged: 30
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
I have this in my UIL speech paradigm (just emailed an update). I believe LD is a competition of philosophies as applied to particular topics of policy or ethical import. Debaters should be technically clear and proficient with solid delivery. They must be topical and do the work to compare the winning arguments of their own and their opponents by "writing the ballot."
