Judging qualifications:
As a 2-time state qualifier in CX, 1 time LD state qualifier, and a 1-time national qualifier for LD in TFA, I'd like to think I have extensive knowledge about debate. When it comes to debate (Especially highschool debate) I don't let my personal philosophy get in the way of what the competitor is trying to achieve. Along with my achievements in tournament qualifications, I managed to be awarded UIL's "Best speaker" and "Best debater" at 2 regional tournaments. While in school i am working towards earning my degrees in, International Affairs with a focus on East Europe and a minor in Russian along with a degree in Philosophy with a focus on Political Theory.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: Solvency and Harms are key. If the aff can convince me that its harms must be solved before the worst possible outcome for the situation will happen or the neg can prove that the harms are non-existent or overplayed by the aff then the round will be decided.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
When it comes to LD, I believe that both sides must show me why their Value trumps the other. Along with that, why the Value-Criterion is the best way of measuring the value. But to put it short, I am very big on the clash between the values of the cases.
