Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 10+
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: My basic CX judging paradigm is Stock Issues. The affirmative must prove that they not only have a case but a strong case that is relevant and solves for the resolution.

LD

Rounds judged: 10+
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
With LD debate both participants have time to develop their case. They will need to show that they are well informed about their case and have a philosophical approach as well.
