Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: The evidence presented should be of substantial quality and should be well-thought out and well-researched. Speaking ability is of top importance in a team debate situation, because it is the foundational skill needed to be successful.

LD

Rounds judged: 0
Approach: Communication skills are more important than resolution of substantive issues
Philosophy:
Communication skills are the most important in this kind of debate, because the ability to articulate chosen values and respond to the opponent's case will determine the individual's success.
