Judging qualifications:
I have been around speech and debate since I was a small child. I competed in interpretation events at the national level and also the state level for policy. I am well-rounded in all speech and debate events with absolutely zero limits. I can judge any event as I have been trained extensively in all.
Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I default to stocks because that is what I debated in the majority of my career, but I will listen to just about anything. I can handle fast-paced argumentation and understand the need for it as long as the round is sign-posted well and correctly. It is important that the round is weighed for me as a judge. I want a clear-cut decision and reasoning.
LD
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
LD debate is not policy however I understand the development of this event. I mostly look for clash and extensive evidence for reasoning. Voters are an integral part of me making the rounds decision.
