Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a Stock Issues judge but will vote for alternative frameworks with good reasonings and evidence to support them. I want to see well-developed arguments and clash. If the Neg. fails to provide clash, I will default AFF. If running K's or CP's they must be well presented and clear. Moderate speed is acceptable but maintain professionalism. I do not like spreading.
LD
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
I am a traditional judge who feels that values, criterion, and contention must be linked. Present your case persuasively. Moderate speed is acceptable but maintain professionalism.
