Judging qualifications:
I have judged two invitations and one district at this time. In high school, I did speech and debate all four years and was a state qualifier in debate I love eye contact. It's one of my biggest pet peeves when they have 0 eye contact.

Judging Philosophy

Paradigm:

LD

Rounds judged: 7
Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
When I'm judging I ask myself 2 basic questions. One who was the better speaker. Two who had the best arguments. Then from there, I chose a winner. Those are my best two facts in deciding a winner. In LD I do not allow spreading, if it is at a point I can not understand them, then they should not win. I also watch for eye contact.
