I competed in informative and persuasive and was very successful--placing first and second in district various years. I've been coaching LD and extemp, and I've judged for both. My judging philosophy is to look for speakers doing what they're supposed to be doing (burdens) and demonstrating skills that lead to success in both UIL and real life.

Philosophy:
I don't want to see LDers trying to policy debaters. I want a value debate but with substance and not relying on hypotheticals and anecdotes. LD is about the why, not the how, and I look for the debater who shows that.
