Judging qualifications:
Though I have only coached for 2 years, I have been the wife of a coach for almost 10. I have judged for him multiple times over the years and we are now at the same school, so I assist him in coaching duties and judge at all tournaments. I have judged all speech and debate events multiple times over the years, but primarily multiple tournaments this year.
I am compassionate about the debate and education of our students. As such, I like to see open and fair debate along the stock issues and want to be engaged in the speech events.
Judging Philosophy
CX
Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a stock issues judge that looks for the issues before anything else. Once the stock issues have been met, I am looking for clash and open debate. I accept new in the 2 if I am convinced it is necessary. I do not flow or prefer spreading.
