Judging qualifications:
As a high school freshman, I won first place in novice poetry. I became the 2nd student in Judson ISD history to win 1st place as a freshman. I also competed in number sense and took a 1st place trophy my senior year. Chemistry, prose, computer programming specialist 2 (where I qualified for the state tournament), academic decathlon, and band. After graduating magna cum laude with my BA in Communication Arts from the University of the Incarnate Word, I worked on various films and TV shows in Los Angeles and Austin. In 2018 and 2020, I ran for U.S. congress as a Libertarian. I have made myself abundantly informed on current and past events, which has this country in its current state. My judging style is traditional in the sense that I prefer to be persuade through sound reasoning rather than simply inundated with facts and little context. There is an art and skill to debate that requires quick analytical thinking, and some level of persuasive communication.

Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 0
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: There are many idealistic policies put forth, but many of them are myopic. The long term consequences of the policy must be thoroughly thought out before deeming it a successful policy. What may seem morally good at first, could cause long term problems for those you are helping and others thus exacerbating the problem.
