Judging qualifications:
Competed in speech and debate throughout high school from 2019-2023. I did TFA PF and Extemp (competing at state twice), UIL LD and Extemp (placing 3rd in LD and 2nd in informative speaking in 2022’s state tournament), and NSDA Extemp (competing at nationals twice). Most of my accomplishments were in Extemp but I also understand the technicalities of PF and LD. I have also previously judged UIL and TFA LD and Speech at the Hendrickson/Pflugerville swing, Churchill, and Roosevelt tournaments.
For Debate, I judge off my flow. If a team/person fails to properly attack or defend their respective side of the flow then I won't vote for them. I will vote for almost all arguments as long as they are clearly explained and not contested to the point where I don't value them. For Extemp, I will value the logical points and information (content) of their speech a bit more than the speaking style. Style is also important, but not the main thing I am looking for.
Judging Philosophy

Judging approach:
Policy priority:
Evidence philosophy:
Paradigm:
LD
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
I need to see the Value, Value Criterion, and content. I do not value theory as much as content. Speakers need to maintain an understandable speaking pace. Speaking style is important to me. Winning the Value/Value Criterion is very important to me.
