Judging Philosophy

CX

Rounds judged: 2
Judging approach: Policy Maker
Policy priority: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Evidence philosophy: Quality of evidence is more important than quantity of evidence
Paradigm: I am a policy maker meaning that I would like to do something to solve the problem. As such, I like a good Counter Plan or a Kritik with a strong Alternative.

LD

Rounds judged: 10
Approach: Resolution of substantive issues is more important than communication skills
Philosophy:
I'm pretty "old school" when it comes to LD. I want to know what your Value and Criterion is in the round. I will then evaluate the round through the lens of the winning Value and Criterion.
