My credentials and experience are as follows;
I graduated from Texas State University in 2008.
High School Theatre Director and Speech teacher for 8 years.
Coached competitors in CX and LD debate, and even more so coached extemporaneous speaking events as well as prose and poetry interpretation.

Judging approach: Stock Issues
Policy priority: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Evidence philosophy: Quantity of evidence and quality of evidence are of equal importance
Paradigm: It is very important that the debaters understand this contest involves both substance of what your are saying and the presentation of how you are saying it. In the real world applications of what we learn to do in debate, you have to be clear and confident in what you say, or no one will listen. Just as you have to make sense, no matter how good you look or how loud you speak. I look for genuine engaged competition, not one liners, and show me you have done your homework.

Approach: Communication skills and resolution of substantive issues are of equal importance
Philosophy:
Lincoln-Douglas debate allows both parties to have their moments. It helps to be a strong extemporaneous speaker in LD. I like for the evidence to be unfurled throughout the contest more than trying to hit every point right out of the gate.
