Spring 2010 UIL Anabolic Steroid Testing Report

The UIL Anabolic Steroid Testing Report for the spring of 2010 has been released by the UIL. The statistical report of the testing program that took place between January 2010 and May 2010 includes information such as the total number of tests conducted and the breakdown of student-athletes tested by sport and gender.

Of the 3,308 tests conducted, there were no positive results and no protocol positive results.

Protocol positive results occur from violations of the UIL Anabolic Steroid Testing Program Protocol.

Of the 207 schools where tests were conducted, 2,092 boys were tested representing 11 sports and 1,216 girls were tested representing 10 sports. Student-athletes who participated in more than one sport were the highest groups tested for both males (682) and females (405). The total number of student-athletes tested for each sport, includes multiple sport participants. Therefore, the individual sport numbers will differ from the total number of athletes tested. Overall, there were 984 freshmen student-athletes tested, the most of any grade level.
