AUSTIN, TX- Dallas Highland Park High School will no longer share in the 2007 UIL Boys Wrestling State Championship as a result of the participation of an ineligible student-athlete.
Dallas Highland Park officials self-reported the violation to the UIL upon discovering it themselves, following the completion of the event. The minimum penalty under UIL rules for allowing an ineligible student to participate is forfeiture of contest. After the deduction of team points earned by the ineligible wrestler, Dallas Highland Park will finish in third place in the overall team standings.
Katy Cinco Ranch High School and Canyon Randall High School will finish first and second, respectively. Updated team scores and standings can be found on the UIL web site, http://www.uil.utexas.edu. ;
