AUSTIN, TX— Four out of eight appeals regarding reclassification and realignment were granted Thursday by the District Assignment Appeals Committee of the UIL. The committee composed of UIL Legislative Council members heard two appeals regarding district assignments, two appeals regarding division assignments and four appeals dealing with conference assignments.
The committee granted appeals made by Houston Yes Prep North Central High School, San Antonio Stacey High School and D’Hanis High School to move into their requested districts in all activities except football. Houston Yes Prep North Central will move from District 22-3A into 25-2A, San Antonio Stacey will move from District 29-2A to 30-1A Division 1 and D’Hanis moves from District 31-1A Divison 2 to 30-1A Division 1.
Corpus Christi Miller High School also had their appeal granted by the committee. Corpus Christi Miller will move from District 31-4A to 31-3A for all activities. They join Corpus Christi West Oso, Lyford, Orange Grove, Raymondville and Robstown in their new district.
The Assignment Appeals Committee voted to deny appeals from the following:
- Denison
- Sherman
- Presidio
- Blackwell
