UIL Legislative Council Standing Committees to Meet

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN - The UIL Legislative Council Standing Committees on Academics, Athletics, and Policy will convene June 14 at the UIL office in Austin. The standing committees are the first step in the process to add or change current UIL rules and policies.

The Academic Committee will convene at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the UIL office. The Athletic Committee will convene at 10 a.m. in the first floor meeting room, and the Policy Committee will meet in the same room following the Athletic Committee at 1 p.m. Scheduled to speak at the Athletic Committee meeting are representatives from the Texas High School Coaches Association, Texas Girls Coaches Association, Texas Association of Sports Officials, Texas High School Athletic Directors Association and the National Center for Drug Free Sport.

The Policy Committee will hear proposals Tuesday regarding the age requirement, in addition to any proposals referred to them from the Standing Committee on Athletics.

All meetings are open to the public and all interested parties are invited to attend.
