FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX- The Medical Advisory Committee of the University Interscholastic League, serving 
as a permanent advisory committee to the UIL Legislative Council, will meet Sunday, April 15 at 9 
a.m. at the Sheraton Hotel in Austin.

The Committee will address concerns and issues regarding students' health and safety. Any recommendations from the Committee must be approved by the UIL Legislative Council and the Commissioner of Education before becoming policy.

The Committee will discuss several important issues including the following:
ο Steroid Issues
ο Automated External Defibrillators Update
ο Pole Vault Helmets
ο Wrestling Minimum Weight Certification Program
ο Adaptive Sports Update
ο 2006 Medical Advisory Committee Survey

The Medical Advisory Committee Meeting is an open meeting, and all interested parties are welcome to attend.
