FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX- One student-athlete is granted eligibility for varsity athletics while two other students remain ineligible due to decisions handed down by the State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League on Wednesday.

A PSJA North High School student was granted eligibility for varsity athletics after the State Executive Committee granted the appeal of the District 31-5A Executive Committee ruling which made the student ineligible for the remainder of this school year.

Additionally, students from Clear Creek High School and Boswell High School will remain ineligible for varsity athletics. After hearing testimony from all interested parties, the State Executive Committee ruled the students ineligible for changing schools for athletic purposes.

In other action, South Grand Prairie wrestling coach Shawn Hoover was issued a public reprimand, two years probation, and was suspended from coaching from today through the fourth invitational meet of the 2006-07 wrestling season for violation of Section 406 of the UIL Constitution and Contest Rules.
