AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Tuesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rules violations.
A student-athlete from El Paso Franklin High School was denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
Andrews High School Assistant Baseball coach Lamar Kello, Mercedes High School Baseball coach Carlos Pimentel, West High School Baseball coach Joseph Heckathorn, and McKinney Boyd Head Softball coach Maureen Fritz were denied an appeal of an ejection from a contest and were issued the automatic penalty of a public reprimand, one-year probation, and additional training.
