AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Monday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL violations.
A student-athlete from Harrold High School was granted an appeal for varsity eligibility. After hearing testimony from all parties, it was determined that this student did not change schools for athletic purposes.
Two student-athletes from Harrold High School and a student-athlete from West Columbia Columbia High School were denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
Petersburg High School Head Baseball Coach Scotty Bruington was denied an appeal of an ejection from a contest. He was issued a one-year probation, a public reprimand and additional training.
