AUSTIN, TX — The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League met Monday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations.
Trent High School Football Coach Clint Oakley was granted an appeal for a coaching ejection.
Langham Creek High School Head Water Polo Coach Zion Thomas was denied an appeal of an ejection from a contest and was issued the automatic penalty of a public reprimand, one-year probation, and additional training.
Conroe Caney Creek High School Assistant Football Coach Michael Beckett’s appeal of an ejection has been tabled until further investigation.
Lubbock Mackenzie Middle School Basketball Coach Dion Mitchell was issued an extension to his prior suspension from all coaching and athletic department duties until January 2026.
A student-athlete from Guthrie High School was denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committee.
