FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AUSTIN, TX— The State Executive Committee of the University Interscholastic League handed down decisions on the eligibility of student-athletes and issued penalties to coaches for violation of UIL rules on Wednesday.

Two students from Rogers High School and a student from North Richland Hills Birdville High School were denied their appeals for varsity eligibility upholding the previous rulings of the district executive committees. After hearing testimony from all interested parties, it was ruled that the student-athletes changed schools for athletic reasons.

Student-athletes from Katy Cinco Ranch High School and Cross Plains High School were granted their appeals for varsity eligibility after the committee ruled that the students did not change schools for athletic reasons.

In other action, the committee issued a public reprimand and two-years probation to Tornillo High School coach Steven Lee for violation of section 1209 (f).
