AUSTIN, TX— The State Executive Committee of University Interscholastic League met Wednesday to hand down decisions on eligibility of student-athletes and issue penalties for UIL rule violations.
A student-athlete from Gunter High School was denied an appeal for varsity eligibility, upholding the previous ruling of the district executive committees.
Student-athletes from DeSoto High School and Sheldon King High School were granted appeals for varsity eligibility. After hearing testimony from all parties it was determined that the students did not change schools for athletic purposes.
In other action, San Antonio Gervin Academy was issued a public reprimand and three-year probation for violation of UIL rules. The State Executive Committee accepted the recommendation of the District 28-1A Executive Committee for disqualification from all post season activities for the 2014-15 girls and boys basketball teams.
