NOCSAE Statement on Third Party Helmet Add-on Products and Certification
NOCSAE (The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) has issued a statement on Third Party Helmet Add-on Products and Certification.
Football Practice Limits
Effective August 1, 2013 as passed by the UIL Legislative Council. During the regular season and post season, no football player is allowed to participate in more than ninety (90) minutes of full contact practice per week. See attached document for more information or the Football Rules & Guidelines page.
Cheerleader Safety
Effective August 1, 2013 as passed by the UIL Legislative Council, students participating in cheerleading must comply with Chapter 38, Subchapter D, of the Texas Education Code related to the prevention, treatment, and oversight of concussions. Additionally, cheer coaches and sponsors will be required to complete training related to safety guidelines for cheer and other training programs designed to minimize risks associated with participation in the activity. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Form
Effective August 1, 2013 as passed by the UIL Legislative Council, the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Form shall be signed annually by the student and the student's parent or guardian. This form is posted on the Athletics Forms page.
