Area Track Meets Reminder
The Area Track Meet was approved by the UIL Legislative Council in October of 2011, approved by the Commissioner and is effective for all conferences for the 12-13 school year (this year). 1A schools have been operating with area track meets for many years and this is the first year that all conferences will be implementing this post season concept for track.
This was a result of a proposal made back in 2009, that was surveyed to superintendents and studied by the athletic staff at the request of the athletic committee of the Legislative Council.
Information on this rule change was released to superintendents and member schools in the spring of 2012 and posted in the Leaguer and the UIL web site.
